Daniel Management Group (DMG) works hard to enhance the communities in which we operate on a daily basis. It is with this same spirit that DMG held its second annual DMG Cares Day on September 27th, bringing employees in the Chicagoland and Wisconsin offices together to help meaningful local organizations.
In Chicagoland, we partnered with Highland Park Community Foundation (HPCF) and Anixter Center for impactful morning with more than 20 employees participating. This is part of a broader five-year commitment DMG has made to HPCF as a Corporate Champion. HPCF supports organizations and programs that address the unmet needs of our community and expand opportunities for all Highland Park and Highwood residents. Because of DMG Cares Day, DMG is in the unique position-it serves as a Corporate Champion that is also able to witness and participate in the work of an HPCF grant recipient firsthand. Anxiter Center offers services for individuals with development disabilities, mental health needs, and people who are Deaf, DeafBlind or Hard of Hearing through a variety of innovative community programs.
As part of DMG Cares Day, DMG, HPCF and Anixter Center staff and program participants joined together in creative activities to get to know Anixter Center and its mission. The activities, which will bring beauty and positivity into the community, included painting and placing kindness rocks in public places, painting tiles for Wings (a domestic abuse shelter), and working together on a triptych (a piece of art formed from three panels) that will be shared with the Highland Park community.
“DMG is entrepreneurial and collaborative, but it is also compassionate and I’m thrilled for what has become an annual tradition to come together and give back,” said Roger Daniel, DMG founder and president. “I’m grateful for the partnership of HPCF and Anixter Center. It was a pleasure to learn more about each organization, engage with the participants of Anixter Center and be a part of such significant and valuable work.”
An added benefit of DMG Cares Day in Chicago is the opportunity to just be together. As DMG employees are scattered onsite at properties throughout the city and suburbs, DMG Cares Day also serves as an opportunity for team building and to connect as a company.
DMG employees in Wisconsin also gathered at Whitnall Park Apartments for DMG Cares Day and worked together to make lunches for Just One More Ministry, a Food Bank in Glendale, Wisconsin.
